thanks for agreeing :).
I have been meaning to write that but Reed beat me to it! Could you have an All mods option under the pm section, to pm all mods. htmom
speaking of not speaking quick enough... was thinking of that earlier HT.... if under "write new msg" ... add the name MOD (and add all mods to that name) so the msg gets sent to them all in case there is a problem child that needs to be addressed so the first mod to stop in can address it quickly...
for ya... well kinda
1) since I don't know your programing capabilities, this is just a blind suggestion... but if its possible, you could start a new thread and place the link to it on the right hand tool bar like physically underneath "my account" and above "logout" or something like that, and all posts by members on it are all blocked so that they cannot be read, but only can be read by mods/admins/the powers that be. then, the admins can check that or be alerted through either the track function, or somehow send a pm to the mods... I only mention this so it doesn't clutter the mods/admins/powers at be.
2) a permanent sticky or whatever its called with a list of commonly used terms used here and a definition... PRN, QID, PO and # referring to how many RX'd DX'd and other common vernacular used both in the med. world and on this site... and if its something you'd like me or a general group of people to do on a thread, I'm sure the people on here would be more than happy to do it, as long as it got posted in a permanent, easily accessible spot, because even though I come from a medical family, there are still some short hand things that I have to look up online.... last one that comes to mind is po(by mouth), I just forgot...
okay nvm... thanks goat... I guess this time I got beat to the punch.
i have one me and a few other member's think that instead of it saying USERS lol not really funny lol it might be better to say member's. where u look to see who is online and how many guests are on. like kirby was saying in the original thread it might not be possible and it isn't a big deal but i figured i'd give my 2 cent's. thank's man this thread was a really good idea.
^^^original thread about this topic <<i love the shades
dnn, as far as a sticky, check out the stickys in the different forums. Goat has a sticky in General Discussion http://www.pharmer.org/forum/general-discussion-about-pharmerorg/slang-typing-shortcuts and I have one in The Lounge. www.pharmer.org/forum/lounge/list-abbreviations
Mods, is there anyway to change hiding the edit button for topics and images as well as deletions so that it only applies to NEW members. I am getting frustrated with not having my edit button!! Especially in my stickys where I cannot add updated info. The stickys are very nice I think, but I have always said they are a work in progress. There are things that I just have not added yet since I don't have the energy. There is also always new info that needs to be added or changed which looks best in the OP. I missed this thread since I have not been around too much the last two weeks.
No wonder Q was insistent on saying the edit button was gone after I told him where to find the edit button. Sure enough I found this thread and now I know why. Sorry Q. I checked my sticky and nope, no edit button.
I do like the extended active topic area, although I keep looking for PM section further down, LOL. It is like when you move the silverware in the kitchen to a different drawer but you keep going back to the old drawer. It will take me a while to adjust to the different PM location but I do like that as well, much easier to see new PMs especially for us those that stay logged in all the time and do not get that green alert banner often.
Mrbrandman, the edit button should be back on all the threads. We can't turn it off for new members. It's everyone or no one, sorry.
So be aware that some OPs may come back and delete their posts word by word, leaving some replies that make no sense. It's not fair to the posters who bothered replying.
The only way to prevent this from happening is for a poster to answer the first post as a reply, not as a comment. By using the reply button, the post you replied to is 'cemented' in place forever. So if a member is new, maybe one of the 'old hands' who answers can reply to the first post instead of commenting. Does that make sense?
Absolutely makes sense, you helped me figure out why my edit button would be missing on some posts and the light bulb finally went off when you and Goat told me people who click reply rather than post at the bottom locks up the post. It makes me stay more on my feet proof reading wise. It is handy to edit mistakes, but when someone goes and edits something out that the next post is replying to, it causes confusion so it is good in that way. How many times we have had people start problems, someone reply to them, then the trouble maker goes and changes their post making them look innocent and the next poster crazy. Thank you TP!!! As ALWAYS I appreciate you and all of Team Pharmer!
i just read this thread about not takeing medication that ppl weren't 100 percent sure it was i was thinking it should be a sticky in the identification thread i mean it's something most ppl know but for ppl that are getting med's from other source's like the net or the street most of the time they don't want to wait and maybe i thought if it was at the very top it might make them think twice i realize how stupid this is but i figured i'd just throw it up in the air anyway's
