I reread what I wrote...I mean ...I don't take meds on a schedule... Except Ftd. And bp meds
Often I don't need 4 oxys or whatever it is..the third day I refill for 2 more days and I don't have to add those few I didn't take leaving a bumper stash for emergency. Like late refills hurricanes what have you. Today I am taking extra pain meds .its a bad day but I'm getting the mountain bike out and try to loosen up..nice warm Florida day.take care all
Dear Goat,I wish to say thank you again!!!! I am doing the two day plan you laid out for me and will add the new data!!!!! Feel good my freind,Peace,RD
Just wanted to say that I am happy you found a plan that works for you. No matter what it is, if it helps you stay on track, I am all for it.
No lecture here, just be real careful. Most of us have done it, but taking extra meds without our Dr's permision can get us discharged. Especially if it is happening frequently. If you were, or still are running out early, look into why. More pain than you were once in? Sitting around bored, so you take an extra dosage to break up the bordom? Got to be careful, becasue you never know when the Dr changes things up on you, and randomly asks you to bring in your meds for a pill count. We just always have to be aware of what we are taking, and why. I keep a daily journal of my meds. I have a notepad on my phone, and mark every pill, and time I take it, so I always know what I have for the day. I also carry a daily med box, with all the meds for the day. I never just pull from the bottole whithout knowing how many I have taken out for the day. Never just pull from the bottle all day blindly. Thats a good way to run out early. Good Luck.
In case I haven't mentioned this one yet. I was getting 150 of the MS Contin 200 mg tablets every month. Usually after the first week, I found myself short. All the time, this was happenening every single month until I realized that someone was actually taking my meds. The problem was who? After realizing that nearly 25-30 were missing and I was down to taking 2.5- 3 per day as opposed to 5 per day, this was becomming a bit overwhelming. So, I went to my Dr. and told him that this had been going on and I cannot take this amount and get by without going into some form of WD. So he was able to write me scripts to get by and that my insutrance would pay for too. That was in and of itself a small miracle but we got it done. Then, I found Safe Lock on line and immediately jumped all over that. This is a pill bottle that has a combination lock built into the top of the bottle. The bottle will hold something like 1000 of the oxy 30 mg pills and the big pills like if anyone takes the Darvocet, it will hold about 200 of those. They're big bottles but I'm getting away from the topic. The thing about this was that my Dr. had no problem hearing me and understanding that I was telling him the truth about my meds being stolen. I have been with my Dr. for a long time and have only once lied to him and admitted lying to him about a year later. I just think that if you lose meds, take too many, have them go missing and you tell the truth, most of these "good Dr.s" will take care of you but if you're seeing a Dr. that has a very strict policy and will not under any circumstances help you out, change Dr.s, that Dr. is not a good Dr. A good Physician will listen and understand your situation. Then help you out in any way that they can without anyone getting into any trouble. Simple.
Dear Herrball, i want to thank you for your post.RD

I was kicked out of the pain clinic but let back in after my case was reviewed......I was told because of "The town hall meeting" on various networks and running out early was why.I was six(6) days early again, but suffered a slight decrease in my Oxycodone and Valium but NOT Morphine.I am a (proby) again.Maybe it is for the best!!! Gimme shelter.RD
