Benzo wars

Well, I had a most horid apointment with my former freind(doctor)I went to see him and when he(doctor) came in to the room,he said"your not going to like what i have to say"  Well I used to look forward to seeing him and as I do not get out much i took our visits as a sign of friendship. My Dr. said that I did not have enough Morphine in my system???What the #^%$#%@ are you kidding me??? I had plenty of Oxycodone and also way to much Valium??? I think that this land and the doctors in it have come off the rails!!!! I would like,no love to be his bartender and say he did not have enough Jack Daniels in his sysytem!!!!What are they kidding me!!! Thier time is comming!!!

BzDs and opioids

Goat, I too have been using both concurrently since 1994 with no illeffects - you would have to take a huge dosage of both before such respiratory depression occurred, and being tolerant to both, that is extremely unlikely. Especially since my dosages of both have been reduced against my will in the past two years. As I noted in another thread, it is ridiculous to be on a third of my titrated OxyContin dosage when my condition is progressive. My benzo intake is large, 6mg clonazepam and 10mg lorazepam daily. The drop in OC is purely because my current doctors do not like prescribing opioids in non terminal cases, period. I have to top up by going to another EU country and obtaining Oxynorm and Palfium. Otherwise I simply would not be able to function and my mobility would be even worse than it is right now.

Gaucho is extremely correct.

Gaucho is extremely correct. I researched "deaths from Suboxone mixed with benzodiazepines", and an astounding 85 percent were found to have beyond the therapeutic dose of either drugs in their system. In short, they were abusing both drugs, so what did they expect to happen?

When I brought this up with my pain dr who used to prescribe suboxone, he shrugged me off and said I had read self-serving literature that told me what I wanted to hear. Needless to say, this dr is a real D bag.

I have been getting 4 different benzos and Methadone and Percocet for over 7 years.

On another note...

My opinion regarding needing prescriptions for medications is we shouldn't need them at all.  The "drug war" creates nothing but a black market and criminals.  I don't know of anyone who doesn't know the risk of addiction and possibly death from certain drugs.  I should also say that I don't consider addiction a disease.  Taking a drug is a choice a person actively makes.  If they continue to take it regularly they should expect; either physical and/or psychological dependence and possibly addiction.

Darn good Dr.

Dear people,i just got back from my pain Dr. after 7 years we had a small battle after all the hulablu about cut backs and no benzos with pain meds!!!!  My Doctor is a fair and understanding man.Well he did say i had to do one more cut back,Morphine,Oxycodone or Valium.i choose to say good by to over 42 years of Valium.Funny thing to leave that desision up to me,dont ya think? Feeling good,a bit hyper but no pain and gained 32 pounds as now i am 182 and will deal with my new doses.Wish all of you all the very best.talk to your Doctors as finding a new one is not so easy and all seem to be under the AMA,CDC,and DEAs hold.........at least till the winds change once again/In short talk with your Doctor and try and work it out(what ever "It"may be)....PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!Rocker Dan

I am not attacking, just amused your advice changed so qickly from one end to the other after your previous post here, and on other threads.

I did not however obtain my Valium to my satisfaction as there will not be anymore Valium as 30 5mgs a day for a month well do not think that will change,Peace,RD
