Malli 30s . . .

I have been Rxed OxycodoneIR in the 30 mg strength for 2.5 years now, the daily Rxed quantity reached as high as 10 p/d. During that time I tried 3-4 different manufacturers but Mallinckrodt was the most often dispensed brand. In this strength and formulation I wasn't able to tell any difference in time of onset, duration, perceived "strength" or amount/type of side effects between any of the manufacturers. If I were to be given a double blind test on these pills I'd probably score them all as equal to the ones made by Mallinckrodt . . . Q

Mallinckrodt questionable quality standards...

Does anyone know where their medications are manufactured?

Does anyone know what types and amounts of 'fillers' are used in their generic medications?

Does anyone keep a list of any side-effects thy've had that they relate exclusively to the intake of this manufacturer's medications?

Does anyone know about their 'Quality Control standards & procedures?

Is there anyone available that is an ex-employee of this company that can tell the facts about their procedures and manufacture?....

There are obviously (in my opinion) some major issues with their generic substitutes, but without the items above, it's only speculation....

Mallinckrodt is HQ'd in

Mallinckrodt is HQ'd in Hazelwood, MO and have a manufacturing plant in Hobart,NY there parent company is Covidien.  The types of inactive ingredients are listed in every prescribing information leaflet which can be obtained on there website, the quantities arent listed but I do believe they are included in the paper work filed with the FDA ie. ANDA, NDA. Quality Control is going to be a &*&? shoot just like it was with ethex, actavis and caraco. They have rules set in place and testing they are suppose to do (first, last and a certain amount inbetween out of each batch I do believe) but the under staffed FDA inspectors cant be everywhere at one time making sure they are doing all of the quality tests and at the right time.  I personally dont think a company of this size and caliber would intentionally jepordize quality just to make an extra buck but there are always going to be lazy production workers that will try to squeeze one last batch of pills out of the bottom of the barrel/bag/can/tray/bin of active ingredient before shift change, breaks, lunch, restroom, etc.

good answer...I can't add

good answer...I can't add much except for an exclusive side effect: hiccups. It is so annoying. Someone I know has similar experience except that the hiccups are only an issue if they smoke a cigarette. Neither of us have the side effect with other brands of the instant release oxycodone. I also recall noting increased urinary difficulty the last time I filled my Rx at a M carrying pharmacy...

MALLIES

I AM A RSD SUFFERER FOR YEARS AND HAVE BEEN TAKING ROXI 15MG'S FOR YEARS! IT IS ALL IN WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!!  I HAVE TAKEN THEM ALL AND THE MALLIES SEEM TO WORK THE BEST FOR ME. IF I HAVE BEEN TAKING MALLIES FOR 2 MONTHS AND IF MY PHARMACY HAPPENS TO CHANGE THE MANUFACTURER IT REALLY UPSETS ME AND I DONT THINK THE NEW BRAND WORKS!! WHEN IN REALITY, IT IS DOING THE SAME!! ITS ALL IN WHAT OUR MIND LEADS US TO BELEIVE WHATS WORKING!! IF I TAKE THE NEW BRAND FOR A WEEK OR SO THEN I  DONT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE MALLIES!! IF YOU DONT BELIEVE THIS,TRY IT AND YOU WILL SEE!

 I totally agree with you

I totally agree with you buck181 about how when you switch brands sometimes it can take a week or so to adjust to the new brand. I do not think it is just in ones head though. I strongly believe that it is more likely an issue of the new pills not working as well as what you are used to and it take about 3-7 days to get over the tiny amount of withdrawal until you get adjusted to the new manufacturer. The reason I strongly believe this is because when I switched from Mallinckrodt methadone to Roxane methadone I actually had to take less pills of the Roxane because if I took the same amount I would get sick from them being too strong but when I switched back to Mallinckrodt (used a diff pharmacy that month) I went through mild withdrawals at the same dosage as Roxane and had to bump my dose up by one pill for that month and when I switched back to Roxane for the last time I was able to go back down one pill. I also had pretty much the same effects happen when using mallinckrodt oxy 15's versus actavis 15's. Whenever I use mallinckrodt I always have to use more, usually around 1 1/2 tablets for every one of the actavis or qualitest.

CAN YOU?

CAN YOU ASK THE PHARMACY FOR A PARTICULAR MANUFACTURER? MOST OF OUR PHARMACIST ARE KIND OF RUDE AROUND HERE! ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE HAVING PAIN MEDS FILLED!
