I also take the Endo brand of oxycodone/apap (see goat's post #8) for breakthrough, they work wonderfully well. Some pharmacies, usually not the big chain pharms, except for Rite-aid (that I know of), will order a specific brand if you request it. You just have to make sure and ask 3-4 days before you want it filled...The Rite-Aid here in town (Carrollton, KY) will order any medication (or certain brand) I want. You'll just have to ask. They have always done this for me..
Hi, (same topic - question)
If I were to get my doc to change me over to the 10mg/325 Percs, does anyone feel that that med would be more likely to last me until my next script of Oxy's? Seeing as how I take 2 tabs, 5mg Oxy IR, q 6 hs & they do not always last me till next p/u, close but not quite! So, I am on a total of 40mgs Oxy-IR in a 24 hour period. Anyone?
Oh and if it's not too much to ask, since ENDO percs are pricy, if there is another choice med that comes to mind, ok too, (a med w/ low tylenol).
(I might go take a nap; glad you're feeling better Goat).
I switched over to endo brand maybe 5 months ago....I get by on them...sometimes I will take one early if I am hurting, they help pretty quickly. Mali is just about as good as the endos imo. Now I need a better nerve pain med....
By Rx only but not hard to get called in if u got poison ivy, or can't sleep, think it also serves as, yep helps ya breath better, therefore a calming agent for nerves. It's called Hydroxyzine HCL 25 mg. I only took 1/2 tab @ 1st but it WILL stop itching from p.ivy & point of interest being that indeed it also is prescribed for insomnia.
Did see my doc that Monday, so I did not do anything illegal! I was just miserable, felt like going to the E.R. that's how bad poison ivy affects me.
If u feel that bad w/ nerves u may consider calling your doc.... just trying to help.
Now Pseudoephedrine has helped calm me, guess cuz I felt like I could breath better. There are not many choices OTW (over the weekend) unless u have a script for nerve pills; I didn't want to pry. Course u got your herbals. Weird to me, do not work.
Try to relax anyway!
The Endocet seem to be faiding away and they say that the oxycodine is the same, but my body say's that they are not. I hurt more than before and i feel itchy and i have a rash from them. Does anyone know what other generic percocet other than endocet is equal to strenth of a endocet. And also is lortab the same as a percocet or do i have to ask for a script for lortab. I have been on them before in pain management and they worked but i moved to South Carolina and got a new Doctor and they think i am nuts because i tell them they don't work the same and i need my Endocets. They say they are the same but they are not. Very frustrated with the whole thing, the people who really need what they are being perscribed is being ruined by the drug dealers on the street selling them, and we are the ones who have to pay. That is why they are trying to get rid of them all together it's not about supply and demand. Help any info would be greatly appreicated. Thanks Cyndi
lortab is hydrocodone/apap...versus oxycodone/apap with the endocet. which is stronger.
I get prescribed 120 10mg oxycotin per month to help me deal with my fairly severe scoliosis pain. I generally just go to whatever pharmacy is the most convenient for me to get to; Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, etc. These chains are all under contract from various pharmaceutical companies to use them exclusively.
What I've found is this; despite the fact that amount of oxycodone and APAP is regulated by our government and it doesn't change, different manufacturers' percocets have different effects on me. Watson gives me headaches, Mallinckrodt feels exceptionally ineffective, and Intrapharm seems to have a speedy feeling coupled with mild nausea. I do know that different pharmaceutical companies use different inactive ingredients which may be the reason they feel differently to me, and even if it is placebo, it's still real to me, so it's valid.
The only versions of Percocets I've taken that did not have the unwanted side effects or ineffective pain relief were Roxicodone and Endocet. Roxicodone only comes in 5mg and 20mg forms, though, so they're not an option for me any longer and I'm now prescribed 10mg.
I just received two more prescriptions for the next two months, and I want to fill them using Endocet, but how? I know that none of the larger chains provide them, so I'm exclusively looking at independent pharmacies and apothecaries. What do I do? I can't imagine walking up to a pharmacist and asking them which company supplies them with Percocets. I'd come off like a seeker, and I really, really don't want to come off like a seeker. Is it possible that I could go to one of the larger chains and have them special order them just for me?
Where did you get your info on "roxicodone" ? It is incorrect.
What exact is incorrect? Did you mean 5mg and 20mg forms?
In my experience, any pharmacy will tell you which generics they stock. It will not make you look like a drug seeker.I moved to a new state several months ago and asked different pharmacies which generics they stock of the meds I take(Percocet 10/325x150/month and Xanax 2mgx120/month.I even did this back home and every pharmacy I've ever asked has cheerfully answered my questions without batting an eye.Body chemistry varies from person to person and some one who really likes a certain brand may find that others don't like that brand and prefer a brand the other hates.Individual reactions to different brands can vary, sometimes widely. No one should look at you like a seeker for making a simple brand inquiry. That's been my experience anyway, with several different pharmacies in two states.Hope this helps.
