Still confused...lol

She liked Janssen before trying Mylan which doubled her pain so she is going back to Sandoz or Watson? Hopefully Dakota3542 comes back.

Yeah, I'm still a little

Does this make sense?

I myself use to think the Janssen were best before the change to the square tab of tape. ( Mylan type). said Dakota3542.

Duh duh duh, OK I got it!

Duh duh duh, OK I got it! LOLEmbarassed

Your break down did help. I was thinking that the poster changed from Janssen to Mylan but they were saying that they like Janssen reservoir patches and when they changed to the adhesive matrix like Mylan's generic their pain doubled.

Thanks allgood

To Dakota: Sandoz has switched over to the "tape" adhesive matrix like Mylan as well. I moved to Walgreens for this very reason where I am able to get the Watson generic who still uses the gel reservoir patch. Good Luck.Wink

re:

I just thought I would explain how I came up with my guess.  I'm still not 100% sure.  Maybe Dakota3542 will come back and clarify his / her post.

Take it easy.

Which brand is best

Sorry about the confusion, Janssen use to make the reservoir type patch, now they make patches similar to Mylan. I like the reservoir type, they give me the best pain relief. The Mylan patch for me doesn't work and leaves me in great pain. I am currently finishing off the Jassen Mylon type and have had the worst month in a very long time. I am very independent and like doing things for myself and this month I had to rely on alot of others to make it through. I can't wait till September 14th when I get the Watson patches.  Watson and Sandoz are the best.

Hope everyone has a great day.   Bob

No need to say sorry. :DI've

No need to say sorry. :D

I've had the same results as you. At least relief is on the way with the Watson patches. Do you agree that the adhesive matrix patches like Mylan come on much stronger than Sandoz's old patch and Watson's current patch, then by day two leaves you feeling like you are in full withdrawal? That was my typical experience. They also seem MUCH more sensitive to heat than the reservoir patches.

I've always been quite

I've always been quite opposite than most people with what works for me- for CP the IM meds worked better than all the LA meds (oxycontin and morphine didn't work at all but hydrocodone did), so I guess its not a surprise that the Mylan worked better than all the gel patches for me. My pharmacist always laughed because I would specifically ask each time for the Mylan tape patches instead of any gel patches. Sometimes I had to wait a day or two for them to get the Mylan in stock but it was much more worth it. I always went to CVS and they had 3 different types- the Mylan tape and two different type of the gel patches.

Sorry to hear that GoatIf you

Sorry to hear that GoatUndecided

If you dont mind me asking, are you changing your patch every 72h or 48h? My insurance really throws up a fit about the 2 day dosing even though my doctor suggests it for me, and says it is very common for the patch to last a patient 2 days rather than 3. If I could change it every two days I would be fine with Mylan & Mylan similar patches but Watson's gel seems to last more to that 3rd day. I think I would be able to lower my dose too, which is the biggest reason I wish they would allow me the 48hr frequency.

Best Fentanyl patch

I have tried 3 different kinds of patches and the one I like is made by AVEVA. Their website is avevadds.com. I have Rite-Aid order mine. They have the best adhesive but I still use the Tegraderm clear bandage over the patch. I have found the Tegraderm bandages very reasonably priced at Medco mail order. Hope this helps.
