Hi,I'm new here..I need some good advice. I hurt my back 5 years ago,2 surgery plus physically therapy, injection which made it worse. I have now been going to pain management for almost a year. They have me on Soma, oxymorphone 10mg instant release 4x a day and opana extended release 30mg 2x a day plus valuim 10 MG 2 a day...plus meds from my pc for high blood pressure, cholesterol, type 2 diabetes.....

My problem is I have diverticulitis which has been acting up,so been vomiting alot and ran out of pain meds last month so I took a percocet from my husband and got a random ur in test. I was honest with them & they gave me my scripts and said if I'm in more pain to tell them.

Well same thing happened this month with the vomiting. I'm seeing a GI doc who may want to do surgery so the vomiting stops. But I was in so much pain I took a percocet and I go tomorrow to the pain clinic. Idk if they urine test me again or not. They normally only do it once a year.but I would rather the percocet NOT show up. Is there anyway to flush it out of my system?  I'm always very honest with them but I don't want to get kicked out. Any advice? By the time my appointment is,it will have been 24 hours since I took the percocet.  I feel horrible I put myself in this situation

Why did you

not call your doctor BEFORE taking something not prescribed to you again?
If you were taking your own medications as prescribed, you wouldn't be worried about being tested. How are you able to keep down percocet but run out of your meds?

Not sure what to do.

You have to stay on your meds alone.I do not want to say it like that, but I have been going through same junk as you kind of.My Doctor passed me to a helper and she tested me and even as i take 3 60mg Morphines and 4 15 mg Oxycodones and  4 Valiums per day the helper tested me and she/they can tell what kind of pain meds you take and since i took some old pills i had put away,i was kicked out almost and the main doc said he would take care of me.he made sure that i keep to MY medication alone! Please understand that only because i gave up  [filtered word] snd never lied that i still can go!Finding a new place is hard and i will not drive on all my meds.Good luck and remeber to take yours alone.Peace RD          Cool

fentanyl patch

FTD patches might be easier on your gut-I don't see how you are keeping anything down if your diverticulitis is bad enough for surgery,,,,which most often is a colonoscopy.  don't take others meds

Surgery

hi Goat, me old; the most common surgery in that situation would be a partial colonectomy. Colonoscopy is the pre-surgery fibre-optic camera investigation to determine the precise location for tha surgery.

scope vs surgery

My neighbor just had that surgery. I was thinking of my diverticulitis-colonoscopy where I had large precancerous polyps that were removed. With the scope. I suffered 5 plus years with heavy bleeding and vomiting and lost 70 pounds- my neighbor had emergency surgery without prior symptoms and is fine now while I still suffer from Barretts esophagus. No bleeding below now
